Our firm was founded in 1925 on the vision of one man, R. Stanford Webb, who built a company dedicated to the principles of service to customers and attention to details. Currently we have 31 employees and service thousands of clients throughout Western North Carolina.
Webb Insurance has the distinct honor of being named a "Best Practices Agency " for 2007, 2008 and 2009. That honor puts us in an elite group of agents nationwide. Only 195 agencies nationally have earned this designation as determined by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA) and Reagan Consulting.

John F. Webb, CIC - President
John is a graduate of Wake Forest University. He started working in the insurance industry in 1989 and joined Webb Insurance in 1991. John balances his time between management of the Agency and working with his clients. His focus is on small to medium sized commercial accounts and personal insurance. John is very active in his Church and as a volunteer in several community organizations including Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe County, The United Way, Presbyterian Home for Children and Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care.
Laura A. Webb, CFP® - Chairman of the Board
Laura is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Administration. She has over 26 years of experience in the Financial Services area. Before launching Webb Investment Services in 1995, she was a Regional Vice President for Eagle Asset Management and the Department Head of Asset Management Services for FSC Securities. She is a Certified Financial Planner™ with expertise in wealth management and providing solution-oriented investment advisory services. Laura is very active in community organizations including the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, Bank of Asheville Board of Directors, Past Board Chair of Riverlink and past Board member of the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce.
David W. Mann CPCU, CIC. - Vice President.
David is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a degree in Business Administration. David joined Webb Insurance in 1981. David concentrates in the commercial insurance area and specializes in real estate development, resort and associated business insurance. With two boys, David is active and involved in many sports and community development activities.
Marc E. Wilson - Vice President
Marc is a native of Asheville. He served from 1972 until 1975 in the U.S. Army. Marc graduated Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in 1977 with an Associates degree in Business Administration. Marc started in the insurance industry in 1978 and joined Webb insurance in 1983. Marc handles a broad range of commercial insurance from environmental contractors, grading contractors and large gated golf communities. Marc also is a pilot/aircraft owner and handles all aviation related lines of insurance. Marc enjoys any activity as long as it's outdoors.
Randy J. Riddle, CPCU, CIC, APA -Vice President & General Manager
Randy is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS degree in Accounting. He started in the insurance industry in January 1978. Randy spent 7 years with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company before moving over to the agency side of the business. Randy joined Webb Insurance in 1992. He is General Manager of the Agency and Commercial Lines Manager.
Tim N. Clark, CIC - Vice President
Tim is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He joined Webb Insurance in 1995 after 8 years in the banking industry. Tim handles a broad range of commercial accounts including, but not limited to, Contracting, Real Estate Development, Habitational, Hospitality and Real Estate Management. Tim is also active in handling the Life Insurance needs of many of his commercial and personal lines clients. Tim is active in his church, has coached youth and middle school baseball for 9 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Asheville Christian Academy.
